Dafiti launches donation initiatives to support the combat of COVID-19

Donations will go towards partner institutions that lack materials to prevent virus' dissemination.

São Paulo: The current context of the pandemic requires the mobilisation of many different sectors of society to combat the spread of COVID-19. Dafiti, the leading online fashion destination in Latin America, understands its social responsibility in this situation, and has partnered with a number of organisations in the last few weeks to help affected communities.

Dafiti has been activating its macro campaign, “RE” in a proposal to give back and assist both health professionals and members of communities most affected by the pandemic. In this way, the e-commerce company has revolutionised its ecosystem based on donations of materials such as masks, gloves, clothes, shoes and furniture to those who need it most.

Among the partnerships, the first one is with “Ação da Cidadania” – a recognised social movement in Brazil. Starting from the idea that donating is an act of love, the non-governmental organisation, which forms a debilitation network to fight hunger, joined Dafiti in action with the motto “rethink how to help”: For every R$ 30 or more in donations through this link, Dafiti will give a discount of R$ 15 for customers to use on its website.

Through a partnership with “AmigoH”, which raises funds to enable projects to fight cancer and blood diseases, Dafiti has donated more than 2,000 products from its portfolio, including clothing, shoes and accessories. As a result, AMIGOH will distribute them to its network of hospitals and to patients exposed to situations of social vulnerability. Some products will also be raffled in order to convert the money raised to finance scientific research.

Dafiti has also partnered with Cruz Vermelha do Brasil, a non-profit association with a philanthropic nature, that assists public authorities and, in particular, military health services, and is playing an active role in combating the spread of COVID-19. The association is focused on three key areas: information, prevention, containment, as well as, harm reduction and mitigation. In order to contribute to these initiatives, Dafiti has donated more than 2,000 products of personal protective equipment.

Dafiti’s e-commerce platform in Brazil, Kanui, which is the largest street-style e-commerce in the country, has also joined forces with institutions to encourage donations. The first partnership was signed with “Estamparia Social Máscaras”, a company that employs people who have come out of prison and face resistance in the job market as a result. Kanui has donated more than 300 T-shirts from its portfolio, to be transformed into protective masks. They were distributed to prison officers and people working in the security sector.

In a second initiative, Kanui partnered with Gastronomia Periférica – a campaign focused on social transformation through gastronomy and human development. The first 200 people to donate an amount above R$ 25.00 to the campaign, won a voucher to use on the Kanui website.

Dafiti Colombia also mobilised to help the population during the pandemic through a partnership with ABACO (Association of Food Banks in Colombia). In order to actively help and contribute to the distribution of food and goods to those who need it most, Dafiti Columbia donated more than 17,500kg of goods to the families most affected by the pandemic in Colombia.
