GLOBAL FASHION GROUP LAUNCHES SUSTAINABLE SHOPPING EDIT IN RUSSIA & CIS

Luxembourg: Global Fashion Group (GFG), the leading online fashion & lifestyle destination in growth markets, announces the launch of its latest sustainable shopping edit in Russia & the CIS. Available via the Lamoda website and app, Lamoda Planet enables customers to shop for products that are better for humans, animals and the environment, and that meet the principles of conscious consumption. The first edit of its kind in the Russia & CIS region, the selection is categorised by six distinct criteria:

  • “Recycle and innovation” – products that are made from at least 50% recycled, sustainable and innovative materials;
  • “Eco-composition” – products made from organic materials and natural cosmetics with certifications such as ECOCERT, ICEA, BDIH, Natrue and others;
  • “Cruelty free” – products from brands that guarantee animal welfare and do not conduct animal-testing of products;
  • “Vegan” – products made entirely free from animal materials;
  • “Care for the Planet” – products from responsible brands that have prioritised sustainable development by reducing consumption of water, electricity and carbon; and
  • “I Want to Help” – products from trusted charities that are selling their goods on Lamoda.

Lamoda Planet is the latest of GFG’s sustainable shopping edits following suit from Australia in 2019 and more recently Southeast Asia earlier this year.

Jaana Quaintance-Jones, Chief Sustainability Officer, GFG said: “We are very excited to release the next edition of our sustainable shopping edits in Russia & the CIS.  Having launched in Australia in early 2019 and more recently Southeast Asia, this demonstrates that GFG is making great strides to achieve its sustainability commitments by 2022 and making sustainable fashion accessible to millions of consumers.”

Oksana Kostiv, Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility at Lamoda – “Sustainability and responsible consumption are important topics to Lamoda customers, and many of our brand partners are pursuing truly effective initiatives in this area. ‘Lamoda Planet’ brings all this together. All six categories of the sustainable shopping edit will be continuously updated with new products and brands. Next year, we plan to add more detailed product descriptions and special tags to facilitate easier navigation. There is still much work ahead, but a conscious start has already been made!”

The introduction of GFG’s sustainable shopping edit in Russia & the CIS follows the launch of the “I Want to Help” charity project with Dobro Mail.ru and Need Help, and the launch of Levi’s: new ecological collection, also available on Lamoda Planet. These efforts are part of GFG’s Sustainability Strategy and 2022 commitments, which can be read in full detail at www.global-fashion-group.com/sustainability .
