LATAM takes first steps towards a circular economy

LATAM introduced ‘Dafiti Circula’ in 2023, an initiative that aims to encourage the circular fashion ecosystem. With 35 points in the City of São Paulo, Brazil, a customer can dispose the clothes that they no longer desire to keep.

Kangu, the Regions partner in LATAM in this initiative, collects the products and sends them to Cerzindo, an NGO that will be responsible for curating the pieces and defining the destination of each one. The clothes can be reused, through the upcycling process, donated or sold at the institution’s own bazaar, with the proceeds going towards maintaining the NGO and training its employees.

The same approach has been used for textile waste from own fulfilment centres in Brazil to divert as much textile waste from landfill as possible.
