Extending the life of fashion items and increasing their number of use are key drivers to transform the current linear fashion system into a more circular model, reducing the global environmental impact of fashion. ZALORA is committed to driving a circular fashion movement in Asia to inspire its customers to make more sustainable choices.
As a first step in this journey, in December 2019 ZALORA launched a new ‘pre-loved’ category, making second-hand products available on its platform in Singapore and Malaysia, in partnership with a luxury marketplace reseller, StyleTribute. This partnership represents a big step forward towards ZALORA’s commitment to building a circular fashion economy at-scale in the region.
As part of its target to involve 15% of customers in circular fashion initiatives in 2022, ZALORA will continue growing its pre-loved products assortment with new partnerships in 2020, and provide its customers with additional options to extend the life-cycle of products and to divert fashion from landfill.
