GFG recognises that urgent action is needed to combat climate change and support the transition to a low–carbon economy. Climate change is a material topic for our business and we manage climate-related impacts, risks, and opportunities across our own operations and value chain.

Our approach is guided by our People & Planet Positive strategy and our science-based targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in July 2025. We focus on the levers where we can drive the greatest impact in an asset–light e-commerce model: renewable energy and energy efficiency in our facilities, lower-emission logistics, and sustainable assortments while strengthening climate risk management and transparency through credible reporting.

Our science-based targets*

GFG’s SBTi-validated near-term targets use 2019 as the base year and 2030 as the target year, and are aligned with a 1.5°C pathway.

  • Scope 1 & 2 (absolute): Reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 (from a 2019 base year).
  • Scope 3 (intensity): Reduce Scope 3 emissions intensity by 55% per million Gross Profit by 2030 (from a 2019 base year).

*We do not use carbon credits to meet these targets and we do not claim carbon neutrality or net–zero for operations or products.
